The Maier Family Legacy Of Faith
Reverend Dr. David P. E. Maier was born May 8, 1956. This 62 year old man is the youngest of two sons born to Dr. Walter A. Maier, Jr. and Leah M. Maier.
David comes from a family legacy steeped in the Lutheran faith. David’s family includes great men of God whose leadership exemplifies Christ’s love for his people and joy in the Lord. David’s grandfather is the sainted Walter A. Maier. In 1917, this evangelist founded the flagship radio ministry, The Lutheran Hour. This small radio show steeped in devotion, evangelism and outreach has grown into a ministry that now reaches more than 100 million people worldwide each week in over 50 countries. Men such as Dr. Billy Graham credit Maier’s work as an inspiration for their own ministries. Billy Graham called Walter A. Maier “the greatest combination of preacher and scholar that America has produced in this century.”
David’s father is Dr. Walter A. Maier, Jr, a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary and pastor, professor, scholar and churchman. A true servant of God. David’s uncle is Dr. Paul L. Maier, an author and great lecturer. Walter A. Maier, III is David’s brother who followed in their father’s spiritual footsteps as a teacher within the Lutheran Faith. Walter is currently Author for Concordia Publishing House’s commentary on 1 & 2 Kings.
